We finally started drafting our HR for small business blogs. We have about 7 drafts done so far.
We are sending these to two separate email lists once they are done. One will go to our fellow members at MBApierce. https://www.mbapierce.com/ This is the group cavnessHR belongs to that is made up of the construction companies in Pierce County, Wa. We sent them an initial message letting them know we will soon be sending out a weekly HR newsletter and if they don't want to receive it. To just click the unsubscribe button.
The other list will be made up of our LinkedIn connections. We have just under 5,000 connections. But once we narrowed the list down to only small businesses with less than 50 employees in the U.S. This list ended up being only 175. So we need to work on connecting with more small business owners.
We narrowed the list of VCs we plan on approaching about cavnessHR from 36 VC firms down to 16 individuals. We are not at the stage to approach anyone about raising funds. But we wanted to go ahead and have a very defined list of the VCs we believe might be interested in having a relationship with cavnessHR. This was pretty easy to do as most VCs are pretty clear on the website what they are interested in investing in the future.
We are learning a lot from our newest customer. One item we did not have on our list of items to do for our customers was onboarding. However, we are assisting our newest customer with this HR function and providing them a lot of value by doing so. This may be something we offer to our future customers.
We had our orientation with our summer interns. We went over the vision and values of cavnessHR and what we wanted them to help us with over the summer. They are going to be a great help to us.
We had another Dev team meeting this week. We went over plans for our new design and how the development team will operate moving forward. We also discussed how we will ensure cavnessHR is GDPR compliant moving forward. We also discussed how we will ensure all of our customers' information is secure. Both while that information is in the cavnessHR database and while going back and forth on email. We also discussed how do we provide the best user experience possible to our users.
We completed Mission 9 of Bunker Labs Launch Lab Online Mission 9 of the online accelerator program. https://bunkerlabs.org/launch-lab-online/
It covered how to promote the solution you are offering. What is marketing vs sales and why you need both. How you need to promote your tribe and how it is better to have one person love your company vs many just liking it.
There was a great video from Gary Vee about your social media presence. There was another great video from Seth Godin. Seth talked about figuring out what makes your business remarkable. If it is only very good, people will not notice. Seth also emphasized finding out about who cares about your solution and selling to them.
