Weekly cavnessHR Up
Lots to talk about this week. I took the The Startup Negotiation Crash Course.
from Steli Efti https://twitter.com/Steli of Close.io
It is a great course where you'll learn to ask the right questions, handle customer objections and more. They also provide their best negotiation content from the Close.io blog, including articles, videos, and resources. I learned a lot from taking this and I am sure it will be very beneficial to cavnessHR in the future.
One thing we learned from obtaining our first customer is that our pricing modules are way too low. There are several items we forgot to include when we originally did the pricing modules. For example, the prices for digital signatures was one item not included. We want to provide great and seamless HR at a price that is not a burden to small business. But we do want to make a profit while delivering this great HR. So we went and redid our pricing modules. We believe that even with this price increase we will still provide HR at a cost that is not a burden to small business.
We started getting more active on Snapchat and learning how to use that platform. We learned how to use Snapcodes, create Geo Stories, Geo Filters and other items. We learned how to change the color of the snapcodes to match the color of cavnessHR and to place the cavnessHR image inside. We think Snapchat can be a useful platform for us. I know some people will say why use Snapchat? How can that be a viable social media platform for cavnessHR? The way we see it, is that we need to reach out to small business owners and founders. We believe that a majority of young founders and small business owners will be on Snapchat. So we need to utilize Snapchat to reach out to them.
An example of what we did on Snapchat. We did a Snapcode with our copy of HR Laws linked to the Snapcode and sent that out as part of the cavnessHR story and a Geo Story. So, we just think this will be a great way to push out our content.
We eventually want to get to the level of Mark Suster.
We are big fans of how he uses his Snapchat to educate people on the world of Venture Capital. We see cavnessHR using Snapchat in the way Mark Suster does. But of course we will do it to educate people about HR.
This article link has some people who you should follow on Snapchat if you are in the world of startups.

We renewed our annual membership with the Society of Human Resources Management. (SHRM)
This is one of the national HR organizations and membership is pretty much a no brainer if you are a HR professional. SHRM provides lots of professional development opportunities and they have numerous conferences through out the year.
We had a good meeting with a couple of representatives from Colonial Life. They wanted to talk to me about what they could provide as far as benefits solutions to any future clients cavnessHR will have in the future. They also offered to make recommendations for cavnessHR to any of their clients in need of HR assistance. So we will have to see if anything comes out of this.
For the 19 companies we sent individual YouTube videos to a couple of weeks ago. Three of those emails came back as hard bounces. So we have deleted those emails from our email campaign. Last week we sent the remaining 16 companies a copy of our HR Laws for small business. This week we sent those 16 companies a Typeform to see if they needed HR assistance. Of course we realize that these 16 companies may or may not even open this email. But if just one does open the email and answer the Typeform. That will be a great opportunity for us to learn.
Below is the link to the Typeform we sent out.

On Sunday, November 12, I gave a speech at the Veteran's Day event at
about my service with others, the sacrifice of serving and how one person can make a difference. It was a great experience and I had a great time meeting the residents.
For the cavnessHR podcast we now have released 17 episodes and they have been downloaded 1132 times and viewed 325 times on YouTube.
