It has been awhile since I gave an update on CavnessHR and lots has happened. Some good and some not so good.
Your feedback and questions are appreciated.
At CavnessHR we deliver HR to companies with 49 or fewer people across the U.S.
Small businesses loses an average of $10,000 per employee because of bad HR. Small business owners are spending 25% of their time on HR. Time better spent taking care of their employee, customers and business.
At CavnessHR we are solving this by providing a voice enabled AI platform and HR Business Partner based on the location and industry of our customer.
We launched a rewards based crowdfunding campaign for CavnessHR on March 2. We are doing a rewards based crowdfunding campaign to help us raise funds to continue the build out CavnessHR. Funds will cover tech, marketing, sales and misc CavnessHR items. We are also doing this as a way to continue to validate CavnessHR.
It would be great if you could donate and share at
https://CavnessHR.co/crowdfunding
For this we have done a PR campaign, been doing one on one reach outs to our connections/followers across social media, significantly increased our content across social media and other items. We have asked for and received numerous testimonials in support of us and our crowdfunding campaign. We are also doing FB ads campaigns and brought on a VA to assist us with everything. So far we are receiving lots of positive feedback and lots of people are sharing our crowdfunding campaign
We have been pushing out our podcast twice a week during the campaign and we will be on 7 other podcasts during the crowdfunding campaign.
We are also a finalist to appear on David Meltzer's 2 minute pitch TV show https://dmeltzer.com/pitch/ that shows on Bloomberg TV and Amazon Prime Video. The episode won't be on TV until June.
We were accepted to Patriot Boot Camp Elite 8. This is a program that takes the top 8 companies in www.patriotbootcamp.org and puts them through 8 weeks of intensive startup programming. PBC Elite 8 is sponsored by https://startup.google.com/ and powered by https://www.foundertrac.com
The best thing about the program was the mentor we were provided. Charlotte Creech https://www.linkedin.com/in/charlottecreech/ provided us lots of great of advice and feedback during our time at PBC elite 8 and we will continue to go to her in the future.
Also as being part of PBC we were given free access to Evolution Coaching. We were able to pick from a set of coaches for 3 free sessions. One of the options was Micah Baldwin https://www.linkedin.com/in/micahbaldwin/ who I had been attempting to connect with for awhile. Now thanks to PBC I am connected to him.
PBC Elite 8 ended with a pitch event. This gave us an opportunity to do a 3 minute pitch and answer questions from a panel.
A big thanks to Nick Hughes https://www.linkedin.com/in/jnickhughes/ and his Founders Tool. This tool has the POC for many investors who are willing to talk to Founders and make those first investor/founder connections that are so important. By using this tool I was able to meet and talk to several investors. I was provided some great feedback on CavnessHR. So thanks again to Nick.
We have also continued to pitch CavnessHR at events such as TIE Global Summit https://tgs2020.org/ and other events. Each pitch allows us to refine it more and more.
Being part of NYU Future Labs https://futurelabs.nyc/ continues to provide value as we continue to use our free access to PitchBook https://pitchbook.com/ to research potential investors. Originally, we were supposed to move to NYC and NYU Labs was going to reimburse us for living there. Well now since the decision was made to make it 100% virtual. The decision was made to still give us that money. Although now it is being called an award or grant. But regardless, this is money we were not expecting and it will be a big help. We continue to take full advantage of the AWS access provided by NYU Future Labs. Also our intern from NYU Labs has been providing us great value.
Back in October/November, I had a great visit to the San Antonio/Austin area. I was able to reconnect with family and spend quality time with them. I also did some in person podcasts and met some great people in the startup and tech communities. While there I gave a session on HR Laws to the Bunker Labs Austin ViR.
So the above is all relatively good. Now for the bad. I had to let go of our tech cofounder. If I am honest, I should have let him go awhile ago. There were many red flags which I won't go into detail about here. But he was not meeting expectations and working more like a free lancer than a tech cofounder.
Now I know many will say how can you continue to build a tech startup, especially with what CavnessHR is building with the AI component without a tech cofounder. Great question. We have been able to bring on a technical team to continue the build out of CavnessHR. Depending on how things go we will be bringing them on as full time members of CavnessHR. We continue to reach out to software developers about joining the CavnessHR team.
As part of giving back I continue to help out at Bunker Labs https://bunkerlabs.org/ by helping to mentor the Military Veteran Community Entrepreneurs in the Bunker Labs Seattle Veterans in Residence.
We continue to meet with people to talk about and spread the word about CavnessHR,
Finally, we want to remind everyone about the CavnessHR crowdfunding campaign. We are asking that you donate and share with your networks. You can go here to do so.
