Karen is a three-time founder in tech and two-time founder in the natural products space, with over 20 years as an executive in the software and data industries. She has her B.S. in Accounting & Business from Indiana University, her J.D. from the University of Illinois, and attended the University of Oxford. She's worked for Accenture and Intel, as well as for startups, and taught entrepreneurship at the School of Business, University of Colorado.

Karen is passionate about making the world a better place, Karen believes technology holds the key to helping more people discover, buy, and enjoy healthy, eco-friendly products.  Like most entrepreneurs, Karen is multi-faceted and draws on her background in the natural products and data analytics industries while building the Makeena community.  Not to brag, but she holds a CPA and a law degree.

Karen’s Advice

 I would just say if you are really passionate about solving a problem that you know, and actually, it should be pretty personal. Because you're going to live with whatever you're solving for a really long time. I would say go for it. You know, test it out, talk to potential customers, talk to your friends, talk to your family. But I would just say go for it and surround yourself with really smart, supportive people.
