Jumping into the world of blogging
Looking to provide value while building HR capacity and eliminating hassle. Be Great Every Day!
So I have finally decided to jump into the world of blogging. It is my intent to bring value to others with my blogs. Here is some background on myself and what I plan on blogging about.
I recently retired as a Major from the U.S. Army where I spent 25 years doing HR and I have many great experiences to blog about from those years.
I have recently became involved in the world of Startups. Which has been a fascinating experience and has taught me a lot. During this time I have become involved with a Startup called MyUnfold. MyUnfold is a Startup out of Seattle that is using skills assessments to match candidates to jobs using a no search no apply process. At MyUnfold, I am the Director of People Operations, which has been a great learning experience. At MyUnfold, I set up the HR department, along with helping with Business Development and doing some content blogging. Or as I like to say, I do everything, except for code.
I am finding the world of Startups very exciting and my intent is that with my limited experience I can help others navigate this exciting world. There are many interesting topics and people in the Startup world. So I will have very many interesting blog topics to choose from.
I am currently the HR Manager for Trident Seafoods at Sand Point, Alaska. This is my first position after the Army. I will be blogging about how my transition from the Army to my first "real" job is going for me. I will also be blogging about how I conduct HR at Trident Seafoods. We have employees here from many different countries, so this will make this experience very rewarding.
I also intend to start a HR for Startups business sometime next year. I will blog about how this process is going for me. To include all the frustrations and setbacks along with the positives from this process.
So, I am retired Army, Director of People Operations for MyUnfold, HR Manager for Trident Seafoods and I am looking into starting my own HR for Startups business. I am also involved in a few charities and professional organizations that I will blog about.
I look forward to your comments and feedback.
