We attended the Meet the Angels Event. https://www.mitefnorthwest.org/meet-the-angels-2019

This was an event where various Angels gave their insights on how founders should go about raising money. We also saw pitches from 3 startups and then the Angels provided their feedback and input. This was really useful. I especially found the advice and feedback from Yoko Okano  https://www.linkedin.com/in/yokookano/ useful through the event.

We attended the Alliance of Angels How to Pitch event. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/aoa-pitch-clinic-galvanize-tickets-60162801559 This was another in-depth presentation that provided details on what Seattle area Angels are looking for when they invest their money.

 We continue to participate in the Kaufman School and Techstars course on how to raise Venture Capital. This course has been a little more detailed than I was expecting.   https://kfatechstars.novoed.com/#!/courses/kfa-venture-deals-spring19/home

 We took part in another webinar with Payfactors. https://payfactors.com/  It is looking more and more like we will enter some sort of formalized partnership with Payfactors. Then we will be able to provide our customers with salary and compensation data. The fact that Payfactors will provide us their API is a big plus.

We finally took the FB Flawless Ads course we purchased a while ago. It shows a new way to run your FB ads campaign. Including how to test everything. In theory, it looks like it will greatly improve the ROI of your campaign. But it will probably be a while before we can use this tool.

We met with our customers to make sure we are providing the value they deserve and to see if there are other ways we can assist them.

We continue to meet with lots of people and to follow up on leads we gained from using Dux Soup and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. We have had quite a few people reach out to us to learn about cavnessHR after they received our LinkedIn message via Dux Soup. So that is encouraging.

We attended a Veterans in Residence (VIR) https://www.wework.com/veterans-in-residence class on finance. It covered the basics of business finance. Some of it we knew what they were saying. Some of the other stuff we had to ask those around us what it was they were talking about.

We launched episode zero of the cavnessHR culture podcast hosted by Daniella Young https://www.linkedin.com/in/daniella-young/ She is going to talk to leaders in the world of culture and leadership. 

We took part in a Boots2Business event on JBLM. Our part is to tell transitioning Veterans about the pros and cons of starting a business and how Bunker Labs https://bunkerlabs.org/ can help them find out sooner than later if entrepreneurship is for them. I also do my best to tell them all the reasons not to start a business and all the sacrifice and patience involved.

Then that night we attended a Bunker Brews at the Forward Operating Base Brewery   https://www.fobbrewingcompany.com/  Our guest speaker was Shellie Willis   https://www.linkedin.com/in/shelliewillislssbb/  She runs Redefining Your Foundation https://www.redefinedfutureyou.org/?fbclid=IwAR3-v5IR7lWx1PyO4nYHY1JcOqEVziJbWy8CH11InXzy_nEWR6Xdlskme_c  

Their mission is to empower servicewomen, women veterans, and military spouses to transition while completely redefining their lifestyles and perspectives following military service. Their vision is to be the primary resource and first national model to concentrate on the concerns specifically connected to servicewomen, woman veterans, and military spouses when leaving military service.

Shellie gave a great talk on entrepreneurship and what it means to be an entrepreneur.
