We took our interns to the joint Bunker Labs Seattle https://bunkerlabs.org/seattle/ and Code Fellows https://www.codefellows.org/ meetup. It was a great event with some great speakers.
Since we are not able to pay our interns. We want to at least expose them to as many networking events and help them to connect with as many people as possible.
We took a webinar on the Department of Labor PAID program. https://www.dol.gov/whd/PAID/
This is a new pilot program that facilitates resolution of potential overtime and minimum wage violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The program’s primary objectives are to resolve claims fast and without litigation.
Under the PAID program, employers are encouraged to conduct audits and, if they discover overtime or minimum wage violations, to self-report those violations. Employers may then work in good faith to correct their mistakes and to quickly provide 100% of the back wages due to their affected employees.
It would seem that with this program, employers would still pay for the back pay of any unpaid wages. But it would help them in not having to pay for any litigation expenses.
We are helping one of our customers find a better option for their payroll and HRM. We have been doing some demos and meetings. So far we have met and/or done demos with the following.
We have some more demos lined up and we will be able to make a solid recommendation on the right payroll and HRM to fit the requirements of our customer.
For this same customer, we are working with them to improve their onboarding/orientation process as another way for cavnessHR to add value to them.
We had a meeting with one of our Board of Advisors. We gained some great insights on several matters that will help us in the future. We look forward to working with all of our Advisors.
We worked on our recruiting and orientation decks. The recruiting deck will be used as a way to show future candidates the type of company we are building at cavnessHR. The orientation deck will be part of our onboarding/orientation process for future employees.
Both will focus on our values. Both will also focus on our philosophy of a Result Only Work Environment. (ROWE) and that we want to provide the members of cavnessHR an opportunity for autonomy, mastery and purpose.
For the cavnessHR podcast we have 7503 views/downloads for the 44 episodes we have released for 170 views/downloads per episode.
Previously, I had been including a video from various sources as a way to add additional value to your the reader. But it hit me just now, that maybe I should be including the latest episode from the cavnessHR podcast. So, I will start doing that for now and I will see how that goes.
