For this week we did the following.
We coordinated a talk by Steven Matly https://www.linkedin.com/in/smdiversity/ of SM Diversity http://smdiversity.com/ for the Lunch and Learn at the South Lake Union WeWork for October. https://www.wework.com/buildings/500-yale-ave-n--seattle--WA?utm_campaign=Organic&utm_medium=Listings&utm_source=Google This is part of the Bunker Labs Seattle Veteran's in Residence program. https://bunkerlabs.org/our-locations/seattle/
Steven gave a great talk on diversity and inclusion and why it should be included in your hiring process at the earliest stages.
Steven was recently named one of Seattle's most influential people for 2018. So it was a great honor and privilege to have him come to speak to us. https://www.seattlemag.com/news-and-features/seattles-most-influential-people-2018-diversity-leaders
We spent some time research email finders to use in the future for cavnessHR. There around 20 of them out there. So it is going to take some time to find the email finder that is right for cavnessHR. Do you use an email finder? Let us know which one you use and why you selected that one.
We continue to refine our sales process. This week we went over the Sales Handbook that was done by Intercom www.intercom.com and https://close.io This book has lots of useful information.
We also redid our sales projections for 2019. At our Quarterly Board of Advisors meeting, they suggest that our 2019 sales projections might be too aggressive. Here are our new projections.
We are projecting to have 408 sales in 2019. This is 0.32% of the 127763 of the Washington State businesses with 49 or fewer employees. To take it a step further we are focusing on small businesses in the Tacoma Chamber of Commerce, MasterBuilders Association Pierce County, Bunker Labs Seattle and Business Impact NW. There are a total of 1812 businesses in these organizations. We need to convert 22.5% of these to reach our goal of 408 sales in 2019.
We reached out to several UX/UI designers in different areas of the U.S. to talk to them about possibly joining the cavnessHR team. We have talks set up with several of them. So hopefully, we will have a designer on our team soon.
We watched a webinar from Payfactors https://payfactors.com/ on The Future of Compensation. This webinar had lots of useful information. We are looking at using Payfactors as our partner for providing Salary and Compensation benchmarking for our customers.
We attended a meeting of the Lakewood, Wa Rotary Club https://www.lakewoodrotary.com/ we were invited by one of the current members as possibly another place to network and spread the word about cavnessHR
We spent the majority of the week practicing for our pitch at 1Million Cups Seattle https://www.1millioncups.com/seattle on Wednesday, October 31 at 9 am. The pitch is at the Atlas Workspace. https://www.atlasworkbase.com/ If you are free, it would be great if you could swing by and check out or pitch.
