We have started the process to transition cavnessHR LLC to a Delaware corporation. As stated before, to meet the goals and vision for cavnessHR. We will need to go the fundraising route. As most of you know, lots of VCs and Angels won't consider investing in your company unless you are a Delaware corporation. Are we doing this too early? Maybe, but we would rather do this too early than too late.
We did a demo with WebHR https://webhr.co/ as we continue to compare HR/Payroll vendors for one of our customers. We are about 80% done with this.
We went to the Marine for Life https://www2.uniteus.com/groups/marine-for-life-seattle monthly hiring/networking event. This is a great event. What I love about this event is this.
The candidates stand on one side and talk about what they are looking to do. The employers are on the other side and talk about their open positions. Then you go to talk the person on the other side that matches with what you talked about.
We took Chris Atkinson https://www.linkedin.com/in/chris-atkinson-656462107/ of the Service Partners with us. Chris will be hiring two people he met at this event. There was a great mix of talent. If you happen to be or know anyone who is looking for a Coax Splicer position. Reach out
to me or Chris as he needs to hire around 20 of them within the next 30 days.
We had a great meeting with Michele Spruell https://www.linkedin.com/in/michele-spruell-3b62b8a1/ of Veteran Services Program Coordinator at Goodwill/Operation GoodJobs. We talked about how cavnessHR can use this program to help fill our positions at cavnessHR. We also talked to Michele about the open Coax Splicer positions at the Service Partners. She was very excited about
being able to help to fill these position.
We completed the Launch Lab Online Accelerator from Bunker Labs. https://bunkerlabs.org/launch-lab-online/ Overall it was a good refresher and it did cover some concepts and items we have not seen before. If you are a Veteran and are just now starting to build your business. This provides you some great foundational knowledge.
We gave a class on HR Laws at Business Impact NW. https://businessimpactnw.org/
The class covers the laws you have to follow based on the number of employees you have in your company. They had lots of great questions and we think it was very valuable to them. We will be providing this class at BINW on a regular basis.
