It has been awhile since I gave an update on CavnessHR and lots has happened. Some good and some not so good.
Your feedback and questions are appreciated.
At CavnessHR we deliver HR to companies with 49 or fewer people across the U.S. Small businesses loses an average of $10,000 per employee because of bad HR. Small business owners are spending 25% of their time on HR. Time better spent taking care of their employee, customers and business.
At CavnessHR we are solving this by providing a voice enabled AI platform and HR Business Partner based on the location and industry of our customer.
So some of the good news. We took part in https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidmeltzer2/ 2 minute pitch competition and finished second. It was a great experience and if you are a startup, I highly recommend you apply to take part.
Partly because of this and some other things. David has agreed to join the CavnessHR Board of Advisors. David joining us is going to be a huge help in pushing us on the path to become the company we want to become.
CavnessHR has closed several partnerships to bring additional value to the customers of CavnessHR. I believe the benefits to CavnessHR of these partnerships are the following.
- Additional value to CavnessHR customers
- Added market validation for CavnessHR
- Potential additional revenue streams for CavnessHR
Below are our current CavnessHR partners.

We believe establishing these partnerships early will go a long way in helping us to scale and becoming the national HR company we want to become.
On the last update we talked about the Hofstra Veterans Venture Challenge. https://www.hofstra.edu/academics/entrepreneurship/veterans-venture-challenge.html
We made the semifinal round pitch event. But we did not make it to the final 10. So that was a disappointment. However, we have continued to stay engaged with them. We are going to be provided 4 interns from Hofstra University for the fall 2020 semester. We are going to have them focus on improving our Marketing.
We were accepted to NYU Future Labs https://engineering.nyu.edu/research-innovation/entrepreneurship/nyu-tandon-future-labs which provides free housing and free working space in Brooklyn for one year. This was supposed to start in Brooklyn September 2020. But because of COVID, this is going to be virtual from September 2020 to March 2021. Then in person for the final 6 months. We will be receiving one intern from NYU during this fall semester. We will have this intern help us out on the the software development side.
We continue to work with and receive mentorship from https://patriotbootcamp.org/ They help Military Veterans and Military Veterans on their entrepreneurial journeys. One item that PBC was a tremendous help was with our application to Techstars Workforce Development Accelerator. We were not accepted. But our application was strong enough to be noticed by the Techstars pipeline program and they recommended we apply to the Austin Techstars. Which we are currently working on doing.
We closed a deal with https://cobizrichmond.com/ to do HR for companies that use their space and sign up with us for free for 90 days. With the intent of course that they stay on with us and pay.
We have done lots of pitching for Cavness at various zoom events. Each one has been an opportunity for us to get better.
We are applying to the https://www.seattleangelconference.com/ This is another opportunity to improve CavnessHR and to potentially raise funds. We have been reaching out to people involved with SAC and receiving feedback on our application. The first cut is from around 50 applicants to around 25. What makes it so tough is they are only looking at you application.
We recently signed up with https://www.zccounting.com/ for them to do our accounting. Something, that if I am honest. I should have done a long time ago.
We recently reached out to our previous The Jason Cavness Experience Podcast guests about being partners/brand ambassadors for CavnessHR. So far 45 of our 150 previous guests have agreed to do this for us. We will continue to reach out to future podcast guests about this.
We see this as another great way to scale CavnessHR.
I spoke about HR and other topic at the following places as a way to spread the brand of CavnessHR.
Influencer Brand Conference
NextGenChef HR Webinar
Bunker Labs National Summit
The next few months are very important to the progress of CavnessHR. We look forward to your questions/feedback.
